Merry Christmas!!!
Mood:  happy

The Tree, such as it is, before Jacoby got to it.

- Or as the Aussies say, "Happy Chrissy."  For what ever reason, they don't say "Merry" very often, and they like to shorten words and add the "y."  Even on TV commercials and such, Christmas becomes "Chrissy," breakfast becomes "Breaky," etc.  Those two are the big often used ones, but there are others.

Jacoby poses with "loot."

We had Brian and Heidy Schott over for Christmas Dinner/Lunch.  Kimberly went all out...Again...And we had turkey, ham, homestyle mashed potatos (yes, SHE mashed them, corn, dinner rolls, turkey meatballs, the Christmas Tree (3D), the Christmas Tree (2D), baked "party pies," cookies, and fresh fruit.  Heidy and Brian brought two desserts, one kinf of like fruit cake, only good, and the other was a Mango Crisp, but also good.

I was a large meal, and we have plenty left.  It's a good thing it was all delicious, because we will be eatting it for days to come.  :)

And a Merry Christmas to you and the family.  Sitting here on duty in the Operations Center on Christmas Day.  Doesn't get any better than that :)

Happy Chrissy, Dooleys!  :o)

I am amazed by Kimberly's spread!!  The 2D and 3D trees are works of art!  I know your guests were suitably appreciative, and your day felt special.  We sure miss you guys around here!

We got to bed around 1 am, and were up at 6 am with Bailey and Sam, who were excited to see if Santa had come.  Naturally, we all trooped downstairs and tore apart in less than one hour what took days to put together!  :o)  The kids are happy, though, and we are glad to be together.  We are doing things a little differently this year in that we did the inlaw thing over the weekend, and then spent our first Christmas at home.  I've got to tell you, it's kind of nice.  The little people have been thrilled to be at home with their stuff all day, checking things out.  And after two turkey dinners the last two nights, we decided on Christmas pizza today.  It felt oh so wrong, and oh so right all at the same time!  :o)

Sam and I took off for a short while while Jimmy sanded and painted the breakfast nook ceiling.  We went to see the movie 'Juno' and really, really liked it!  Two thumbs up from the 16 year-old, and the "$)" year-old!  Bailey was content to hang out with her new Webkins and paint pictures with her new watercolors.  No doubt, the whole house will be covered in rainbows soon.

Paul Keyes and family will come in tomorrow evening, and will be with  us until the 28th.  The Sisks are coming to dinner the 29th.  Then we leave for Ocean City on the 30th to return on the 1st.  Busy times, but good times!  We're going to get up tomorrow morning and try to hit a couple of after-Christmas sales.  Being the cheapo that I am, I love picking out my holiday hostess gifts, etc, for next year.

Jimmy's birthday is tomorrow.  Among other things, I thought I was really going to surprise him by buying floor seats for Van Halen, who will be in Baltimore in March.  It's special, of course, because David Lee Roth is back, and Wolfie VH is now in the band with his dad.  The tickets weren't cheap, but I was glad to get them. So, trying to feel out how Jimmy is going to react, I made some comment when VH came on the radio in the car.  I think I asked him to turn it up.  Jimmy kind of turned up his nose and said, "Nah, it's just Van Halen.  I'm so burned out on them."  I burst out laughing, naturally.  Leave it to me to actually try something different and creative and have it turn out totally wrong.  I told him about it.  He suggested I try to sell the tickets and let him finally buy his Bose surround sound for the family room.  The best laid plans!  :o)

You're all caught up on us!  We love you!
