This was an interesting trip. We paid a tour guide team with a pontoon boat to take us out into the canal at night. The guides would scan the surface of the water with a high power flashlight to find crocodiles, caimen, and alligators. Once they found them, the animals didn't move. They would just stare at the light. When the boat got close enough to them, one of the guides would use a dog-catchers tool to catch the thing and then bring it up on the boat with us! We'd play with it, take some pictures, and then let it go. These were not happy animals. We had a blast. |
