Karneval in Koln

This is one of the largest Karneval celebrations in Germany.  It is celebrated on "Rose Monday" which was February 11th, this year (2002).  In effect, all of Germany's major candy makers have a float in the parade, and each of them throw out their products (mostly chocolate) by the handfuls to the crowd.  There were also lots of marching bands and clowns and things.  The celebration is known for elaborate costumes, both in the parade, and the people watching.
