The Europe Years (1999 - 2005)

Pisa, Italy

In the tour books, Pisa is the forgotten city in Italy. We couldn't find any mention of it in MOST of the books
we read. As it turns out, the leaning tower is basically all that's there. Granted, it's pretty cool.
The tower is back open again, for those that knew it closed to the public. For safety reasons, people weren't allowed
to climb it. Now, since they've added pulleys and weights to the inside of the tower, it is open again. -But we
didn't go in.
The pictures you will see of the kids "holding up the tower" is the traditional pose in Pisa. The fields are covered
with people doing that. It's silly, but it's fun.
