The Europe Years (1999 - 2005)

Florence, Italy

Florence (Firenze, in Italian) is straight out the history books.  This place is neat.  Street venders have all but blocked off the major pedestrain areas, and they sell everything.  The city is covered with statues and other works of art.  Also in the city is a bridge "Ponte Vecchio" which was the only bridge that Hitler left standing during WWII.  Apparently he needed it as a supply route...  The picture below of the family eating ice cream (Gelato), and posing with the statue were taken on this bridge.
